You Gonna Eat That Bib?

Althea and Elise prefer to eat their snazzy new bibs than to wear them.

Bumbo Seats

I mean, really.  How much more fun could this be?  We had to take 47 pictures to get one non-blurry one.

Hand Jive

Elise will be 12 weeks old on Monday.  She’s recently become aware of her hands, and that she can suck on them.  I think she’s aiming for her thumb, but more often than not, getting an as-yet-uncoordinated fistful of wayward fingers either in her eyes or up her nose.  It’s cute, and the loud, wet and sloppy sucking sounds make me laugh every time.

Baby Update – 11 weeks old today

Notable accomplishements and notes –

  • Burps are becoming truly impressive.
  • Neck and head control are rockin’ and rollin.  Most of the time, they appear bored with resting their heads, and insist on swinging their mostly-well-supported heads in all directions.  Sometimes, right into my collarbone which elicits the slow crescendo “that hurts” cry.
  • Learned about this “that hurts” cry when they got their first round of booster shots.  Don’t get me started about booster shots.
  • Smiles are becoming more predictable and responsive (as opposed to merely reflexive).  Laughter is still limited to when they’re asleep.  I’m still trying to figure out what babies find funny.  I mean, they haven’t seen “Airplane!” yet.
  • They smile at me when I get home from work.
